Hello everyone it’s Gene and today is a day to reflect on May 6,2009. This is the day that I got the shock of my life when I was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer. It goes without saying that I did not think I would be doing a Facebook post 6 years later or anything else for that matter. The good news is that I am doing this post and anything else that I want to do. As I have said many times before and will continue to say: this would not have been possible if not for all of the great doctors and staff at Moffitt Cancer Center. I have been very blessed and fortunate to have this great team get me back on my feet and get me back to doing the things that I like to do. I have also been blessed with great family, friends and especially my wife Katy. These are all very important pieces to healing and recovery for which I am very thankful. With that said Paddle Against Cancer allows us to provide a great platform to share our story, increase awareness and raise dollars for important research in the fight against cancer. I am extremely excited about our event this year and look forward to seeing everyone on the 23rd. I thank all of our supporters and ask you all to spread the word about our paddle so we can make this year the best ever. Thanks for listening/reading and STAY STRONG!!!
